Thank you for volunteering to help with CLOW! Your help in this ministry is greatly needed and appreciated. As a young adult, the children will look to you as role models. Please remember the following:
1) Show the children, by example, how to be respectful during our Mass time. They should be listening during the reading of the Bible stories and prayers. You can help them by giving gentle reminders and encouragement to listen and look at the leader.
2) On the way to the Madonna Room, your help in keeping the children together is needed. It is most helpful if half of the helpers are towards the front of the "line" leading and the other half are at the back making sure we don't lose anyone.
3) Please sit near the students, in the group. This will help you be close by to help a child who has lost their page or who might need a reminder.
4) It is not safe for the children to climb on or under the tables and chairs. If you see a child in one of those places, remind them to join the group in the front.
5) The CLOW leader may ask you to read or participate in leading prayer.
6) Once the children have sat down we need two helpers to count how many children have attended. Check with each other to get the most accurate count!
When you sign up for Children's Liturgy of the Word, you sign up for a month of volunteering (3-4 Sundays a month). You must show up before the 10:30am Mass, and walk to the Madonna Room with the children participating in CLOW.
